Few bands have had as much of an impact on metalcore as Poison the Well.

This past weekend, the band set down in New York City to play a trio of insane, sold-out shows, wrapping up last night. The first night of their three-gig run (Thursday, January 18, 2025) the band performed an underplay at Brooklyn’s venerable Saint Vitus Bar, which proved to be an absolutely insane show. Joining them was LaMacchia, the solo project of Candiria’s John LaMacchia.

Poison the Well played an absolutely chaotic set, playing a good mix from their discography. The shows were in celebration of the band’s third full-length record You Come Before You, and the album was featured heavily on the set, as well as some favorites from The Opposite of December.

As of writing, the only other show Poison the Well has scheduled for the year is Lamb of God’s Headbangers Boat cruise, which will take place this year from October 28-November 1st.

Photographer Melinda Oswandel was on hand to document the event, which you can check out below. Follow her on Instagram.
