When it comes to powerviolence, Nails is one of the most iconic bands in the scene. Over the years following their formation in 2009, the Oxnard, California band has released several EPs and three studio albums, each one offering utterly savage-sounding grind, crust, and d-beat-driven death metal.

At the time of this writing, the latest studio album to come from Nails is 2016’s You Will Never Be One Of Us. Upon its release, the album recieved praise from critics and fans alike, with audiences in awe of the band’s sonic extremity.

But now, seven years following the release of You Will Never Be One Of Us, Nails has announced that their fourth studio album will be coming out next year. News of this upcoming Nails album comes directly from the band, via a new post they have uploaded onto their Instagram account.

In this photo, Nails guitarist and singer Todd Jones is seen standing alongside Kurt Ballou, the guitarist for metalcore legends Converge and owner of GodCity Studio.

Alongside this image, the band provides the following caption:

“New NAILS LP coming Summer 2024 via @nuclearblastrecords engineered by Kurt Ballou. Thanks for sticking with us. Info forthcoming. Love you all.”

Along with You Will Never Be One Of Us, Ballou has produced Nails’ other two studio albums: Unsilent Death and Abandon All Life. Based on this photo of the two artists, it appears that Ballou will once again be lending his skills to the upcoming Nails album.

For you fans out there, how excited are you to hear that we are finally getting a new Nails album in 2024? For those of you who have never heard the band before, below you can listen to their song “You Will Never Be One Of Us.”
