Among the metal albums he considers to be his top personal favorites, there is an iconic ’90s grunge album that Ozzy Osbourne happens to be a big fan of.

Back in 2017, as part of a feature with Rolling Stone, the heavy metal legend was asked to name his ten favorite metal albums. Among his picks, he shouts out the likes of Metallica, AC/DC, Judas Priest, and Pantera.

Osbourne’s top ten is full of heavy metal and thrash, as well as includes one industrial nu-metal album; that said, the album that stands out the most to us is the one grunge shoutout Osbourne says is a favorite of his.

That record is none other than the 1990 studio album debut from Seattle, Washington grunge legends Alice In Chains: Facelift.

Along with being an incredible debut from the grunge act, Facelift also features one of Alice In Chains’ biggest hits to date, “Man in the Box.”

Speaking about his fandom of this album, Osbourne not only talks about the hit song, but also expresses his admiration for the late Alice In Chains singer Layne Staley. Per Osbourne:

“Another amazing debut. ‘Man in the Box’ is a classic. Layne Staley was a lovely guy. It’s such a shame that he couldn’t overcome
his demons.”

Facelift is an extraordinary work of grunge, and it’s pretty damn awesome to hear that it is one of Ozzy Osbourne’s personal favorite albums. What are your thoughts on Alice In Chains’ Facelift?

Speaking of Alice In Chains, earlier today we shared a story involving rapper Post Malone covering one of the band’s classic songs during a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show. Post’s cover makes for a jaw-dropping performance, and you can check it out for yourself by following this link here.
