It isn’t often that you hear of a Humanitarian organization declining a donation, but apparently, UNICEF Poland is not interested in accepting what Behemoth is offering them.

Recently, over the course of a few weeks, the band was selling “Behemoth charity teddy bears,” with “the whole profit” from sales involving these bears going “straight to a foundation which helps children in need.”

The bears feature the band’s name on them, the band’s symbol (with the wording “Legion” underneath), and a tag that reads: “100% Satanic.”

The last batch of these charity teddies went on sale July 22nd, and with the sale of these bears having concluded, Behemoth decided to send the profits to UNICEF Poland. However, per an email from the organization, they chose to decline Behemoth’s donation to them. The reason behind this decline – as translated by the band – apparently has to do with the “nature of the messages” associated with Behemoth’s “products.”

Via the band’s Instagram, they share a photo of the email they received from UNICEF Poland, and provide the following about this update:

“Sooo about our charity action and giving the income form the teddies to @unicef @unicefpolska … I wanted to do so and participate in their ‘company with a heart’ action. Attached is the answer which I just got.

“Translated : ‘Thank you very much for your interest in our organization and your willingness to join the ‘Company with Heart’ program.
According to its regulations, each entity applying for participation in the program is subject to verification in terms of potential risks related to establishing cooperation. Unfortunately, we would like to inform you that due to the nature of the messages accompanying the products you sell, we cannot qualify you for participation in this particular Program.’

“Shame on you, @unicef @unicefpolska . I am totally speechless. Do you REALLY want to help the kids out there? Thankfully, there are some other foundations which will accept the money for children. Legions, can you suggest any?”

What do you think of UNICEF Poland declining Behemoth’s donation over the “message” the band provides through their products?
