Frontman Chad Gray, of the Peoria, Illinois nu-metal band Mudvayne, has recently revealed that the band currently has four songs in the works.
These four songs represent the first new material to come from the nu-metal outfit in 14 years. At the time of this writing, the “latest” release to come from Mudvayne is their 2009 self-titled record.
In a new interview with The Oakland Press, Gray talks about these new Mudvayne songs and how much effort he has put into making them.
Speaking about these new tracks, Chad Gray shares the following:
“We’ve already been working on some stuff. We’ve got four (songs) in the pipe. I’ve written each one of them probably three different times, ’cause it’s like nothing’s good enough. We’re gonna keep pushing. We’re all getting along really good. We’re all talking. Hopefully we all want the same thing from our music, so we’ll see. It’s definitely the thing that makes the most sense to do now.”
14 years is a hell of a long time, but between touring with Rob Zombie last year, currently being on the road with Coal Chamber, GWAR, and the Butcher Babies, and now working on these new songs – it sounds like Mudvayne is making one hell of a comeback.
For you longtime Mudvayne fans out there, how excited are you to hear new songs from the band after nearly a decade and a half?
