Yesterday (July 4th), Wovenhand drummer Ordy Garrison passed away. As noted by the band, his cause of death was due to a sudden heart attack.

Regarding his passing, Wovenhand has provided the following statement on their social media:

With hearts as heavy as the earth
We regret to inform that Ordy Garrison passed away of a heart attack this morning July 4 2023
There are no words to describe the pain
He was the light of my life
The beating of my heart
My best friend and companion
My world
He leaves behind his beloved wife Kate
And his beloved son Carlos
We love you both fiercely
We are heartbroken eternal
These are words
But there are no words
We love you Ordy
without end

For over two decades, Garrison performed with the band, providing his remarkable drumming skills to each of their releases. Outside of Wovenhand, he also played in Slim Cessna’s Auto Club.

Along with the band’s statement, Emma Ruth Rundle and Sargent House have also provided statements in regard to Garrison’s death.

Per Rundle, she shares the following:

“To Ordy Garrison – The gods have one hell of a drummer with them now. Wild horses on and on forever in the sky. Thunder and everything. Thank you for your kindness and the music you gave us and for being always encouraging with love and grace in our interactions. My condolences to your wife and son and music family @ordyg”

Per their post, Sargent House writes:

“Ordy Garrison was an extraordinary musician, husband, father and friend. Heartfelt condolences to any and all that ever got to feel his grace. He will be missed so deeply.”

We send our condolences to Garrison’s family and loved ones.
