The member of a local Idaho band who will be opening for the Las Vegas act Falling In Reverse at an upcoming show recently reached out to Ronnie Radke for help, but rather than offer help back, Radke dished out some blunt advice.

Tyler Morrison’s band Become the Apex recently won a “Battle of the Bands” and will be opening for Falling In Reverse at their show on July 26th. Reaching out to Radke on Twitter, Morrison asked if there was anything the frontman could do to help out Become the Apex with their given timeslot. Per Morrison’s message to Radke, he writes:

“Hey @RonnieRadke my band won a battle of the bands to open up for you on July 26th in Idaho (X-Fest) & they’re telling us they want us to start our set 15 minutes after doors

“Now we’re a bunch of nobodies, but could the GOAT help us out”

While Radke did write back to Morrison, the frontman ended up providing some blunt, but fair, advice to the musician. Per Radke’s reply: “You need to earn your time slot, like I did, there’s no free hand outs, if that’s what they told you then you do it, you should be glad you won.”

But along with his to-the-point advice, Radke said he would check out Become the Apex’s set if Morrison was afraid no one else would watch them. In a separate retweet, Radke wrote to Morrison: “And if you are worried about nobody watching I’ll come watch you myself.”

What do you make of Ronnie Radke’s points about “no free hand-outs”? Have you ever opened for a major metal band? And if so, what was your experience like not just playing that show, but perhaps even interacting with the band you opened for?
