Demi Lovato is interested in collaborating with even more heavy metal artists. Already having worked with guitarist Nita Strauss and Guns N’ Roses‘ Slash, Lovato has recently revealed that she really wants to work with Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor and Knocked Loose.
Lovato talked about her desire to work with these artists in a conversation she took part in with SiriusXM’s Jose Mangin, via his Metal Ambassador podcast. In this new chat, Mangin spends some time asking Lovato about her heavy metal fandom. At one point in the conversation, she talks about dream collaborations she’d love to make happen. Regarding those collaborations, Lovato says (as transcribed by The Pit):
“Someone I’ve always wanted to work with is Corey Taylor. And obviously, working with bands like Knocked Loose would be sick too. So, I think it’s something that’s on my wishlist, but hopefully, I’ll have some collaborations for Revamped. We’re still working that out though.”
For context, Revamped is an upcoming record Lovato is releasing that will feature “rock versions” of some of her biggest songs. One of her songs that has gotten a rock upgrade is “Sorry Not Sorry,” which features guitar work from Slash.
It would be absolutely surreal to hear that Corey Taylor and Knocked Loose collaborated with Demi Lovato on that record. The album comes out on September 15th, so there is still time for such collaborations to take place.
Also within this conversation, Lovato talks about how she got into heavy metal. She brings up her fascination with the art form and talks about an awesome metal concert experience she had. She also talks about her fandom of the death metal band Job For A Cowboy and why she is so in awe of them.
Per the two respective videos below, you can hear Demi Lovato talk about her dream collaborations and heavy metal fandom.
