In unfortunate news for Slipknot fans, founding percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan will be absent from the band’s upcoming European tour due to his wife’s health issues. The announcement was made through a heartfelt statement posted on Slipknot’s social media pages, where Clown expressed his commitment to supporting his wife during this challenging time.

Clown’s statement conveyed his gratitude for the love and support received from fans throughout the years. He assured Slipknot’s devoted following that he will return to the road as soon as possible, emphasizing that this is a situation the band has faced before.

“Hello to all of our fans, it’s the clown. I would like to take a moment to tell everyone that I’m back home supporting my wife through some health issues, and I’ll be back on the road as soon as I can.

We’ve been through this before and as always, we appreciate the love and support. See all of you very soon.

Thank you.

Slipknot has not yet revealed whether there will be a replacement for Crahan during the affected shows. The European tour, which kicks off on June 7 in Austria, will span nine shows across multiple countries, including Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Belgium.

This isn’t the first time that personal circumstances have led to Crahan’s absence from the band. In 2016, he had to step away from an Australian tour following the passing of his father-in-law.

While Slipknot fans eagerly await Clown’s return, the band continues to fulfill their tour obligations, including appearances at festivals such as Download Festival, Rock Fest, Inkcarceration Festival, and Blue Ridge Rock Festival.

For now, Slipknot’s loyal fanbase sends their well wishes to the Crahan family, hoping for a speedy recovery for Clown’s wife. They eagerly await the day when Shawn “Clown” Crahan rejoins Slipknot and brings his energetic and dynamic performances back to the stage.
