There have been all kinds of AI remixes created recently; among the remixes that have appeared online, there was one featuring Kurt Cobain singing a Radiohead song, as well as Chester Bennington singing a Slipknot song. And while each of these has been unique in its own right, one of the more surreal AI remixes we’ve come across recently involves James Hetfield singing a Nickelback song.
In this remix, AI software was fed vocals of the Metallica frontman, and then those vocals were reconstructed to have Hetfield’s voice sing the Nickelback classic “How You Remind Me.”
Hearing the thrash metal vocalist “cover” the Nickelback tune is truly bizarre.
The AI software has perfectly matched Hetfield’s voice to sing along to the vocal flow that Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger provides in the band’s original tune.
Besides coming across as surreal, how does it actually sound to hear “James Hetfield” covering “How You Remind Me”? Honestly… it sounds really fucking good.
We never thought a Metallica x Nickelback collab would ever be a thing, but apparently, with AI, you can do some absolutely wild shit.
You can check out this AI remix of Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me” below. Also below, you will find the dates and locations associated with Metallica’s upcoming North American tour.
