Depending on your travel companions, tour pranks are a big part of life on the road. Most of the time these antics are innocent and good natured enough, but let’s face it… there are some characters in the world of heavy metal who can take things too far. Few people push the boundaries of common decency past the breaking point quite like King of the Edgelords, Marilyn Manson.
While promoting their Twins Of Evil: The Second Coming co-headline tour in 2018, shock rockers Manson and Rob Zombie filmed a video where they discussed their first experiences hearing each other’s music. In the clip, Manson cheerfully admits to the fact that he repeatedly urinated on Korn’s catering while on a tour with the band in the 90s.
Prompted by Rob Zombie’s revelation that the first time he had seen Marilyn Manson live was on that tour, the following delightful exchange happened:
Manson: “It was definitely Danzig… Danzig and Korn was before us. I used to piss on their catering.”
Zombie: “Well, you gotta do what you gotta do.”
Manson: “No, I just thought it was funny, they went on before us though…”
Zombie: “Wait Korn’s catering or Danzig’s catering?”
Manson: “No, No, Korn’s. Danzig, I would use his bus as a place for sexual liaisons…”
Cool…
Now, your average recipient of such a mean-spirited practical joke would probably respond with revulsion and anger. Fortunately enough for Manson, the Korn guys seemed to take it all in stride. Just a few months after Manson’s admission about why Korn’s hummus on that Danzig tour was extra tangy, he attended the Hollywood date for their 20th anniversary Follow The Leader tour.
