Before the days of Corey Taylor fronting Slipknot, Anders Colsefni was providing vocals for the nu-metal act. Colsefni was in the band from 1995 to 1997, and the only release he ever took part in was the band’s 1996 demo, titled Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.
Among some fans in the Slipknot community, Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. is a beloved record; however, it’s been decades since the band has played those songs live, and who knows if they’ll ever consider playing them.
That said, there’s some good news for those fans itching to hear the band’s earlier material, for Colsefni plans on performing the demo in full on an upcoming tour of his.
The ex-Slipknot singer will be touring alongside former Mushroomhead member Waylon Reavis starting this October in Australia. Whereas Reavis will be performing different Mushroomhead classics, as well as songs from his band A Killer’s Confession, Colsefni intends on performing Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. for his fans.
It is incredibly surreal that Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. will be played live in 2023; the demo features a sonic ferocity that is much different compared to the Slipknot we know today, and hearing Colsefni play those songs will be nothing short of intriguing.
