Earlier this year, Corey Taylor made the claim that his upcoming album, titled CMF2, is going to be “the best rock album of this year and the next.” During a new chat with WGRD 97.9’s Tommy Carroll, Taylor was asked to back up his claim, and in doing so, expressed what he feels makes this upcoming release so special.

The Slipknot frontman talks about how the album “doesn’t sound like everything else,” and that, “even if it is a slow burner out of the gate,” he believes people will “remember” CMF2. When it comes to backing up his claim, Taylor says (as transcribed by Blabbermouth):

“Dude, this album’s got everything, man. I mean, it doesn’t sound like everything else, which apparently is contagious in this industry. It’s not produced like everything else. It feels alive. The songs are incredible. The production, the performances… I mean, this album chews up the first album and spits it out. It’s probably one of the best things that I’ve ever done, and I’m really, really proud of it, man. I’m proud of the work that me and [producer] Jay [Ruston] did. And people are going to… Even if it is a slow burner out of the gate, people are gonna remember this album.”

CMF2 will be released later this year on September 15th. If you’ve heard Taylor’s first solo record, are your expectations high for his upcoming album? Below you will find the dates and locations associated with Taylor’s upcoming solo tour.
