Chris Michaels is a Meteorologist at WSLS in Roanoke, VA, and if you happen to be watching his weather reports, you might notice a couple of nods to heavy metal lyrics.
Among the videos he uploads onto his TikTok account, Michaels will sometimes share footage of his weather reports; within some of these videos, Michaels shows off his love for metal by including lyrics from specific metal songs in his forecast reporting.
For example, in one of Michaels’s more recent videos where he’s talking about the weather, the Meteorologist briefly throws in a nod to Sleep Token. Per the caption associated with this video, Michaels’ writes: “Sneaking Sleep Token lyrics into the forecast.”
In the video, Michaels says (as transcribed by Metal Hammer): “If you’re like me and you hate watching repeating forecasts and you’re like come on, ‘take me past the edge, I want to see the other side’ of this weather pattern.”
The portion where he says “take me past the edge, I want to see the other side” is a direct nod to lyrics found in the Sleep Token song “The Summoning.”
Below you will find the video of Michaels sneaking in Sleep Token lyrics into his weather report. Also, if you happen to check out his TikTok account, you’ll find other videos where he has snuck in Motionless In White and Bad Omens lyrics.
This is certainly a unique way to spice up weather reporting.
