When it comes to the relatively younger bands in the scene who have the potential to become one of metal’s future headliners, Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows has an idea of who one of those acts could be.

Over on Twitter, Shadows uploaded a video featuring a performance he saw at the Sick New World metal festival. This footage, in particular, features a performance from the electronic group 100 Gecs.

Alongside this footage, Shadows shouted out 100 Gecs, calling them a future headliner; also within that post though, the Avenged Sevenfold frontman shouted out a modern metal band he thinks will be a future headliner. Who is this band? Well, per Shadows’ post, he says:

“Saw one of my favorite groups yesterday and it was glorious. @100gecs. Also, @spiritboxband is cool as fuck. Both are future headliners.”

Yes, per Shadows’, he believes Spiritbox has the potential to become one of heavy metal’s future headliners. In the seven years since the band’s formation, Spiritbox has cemented themselves as one of modern metal’s biggest bands, and it seems like they will continue to only get bigger over time.

When the time comes for heavy metal’s old guard to retire, who do you think will be the genre’s new headliners?
