It isn’t all that rare for video games to include music-related emotes into gameplay, but a “crabcore” emote? Not that is niche as hell.

For those of you unfamiliar with the term, crabcore is a meme genre that emerged in the 2000s and was used to poke fun at bands like Blessthefall and Attack Attack! who would crouch really low to the ground and take on a “crab-like” stance while performing. In particular, the Attack Attack! music video for “Stick Stickly” played a big role in popularizing the term crabcore.

But it looks like the genre is making a comeback – well, at least as an emote in the first-person shooter video game Destiny 2.

As shared by a couple of folks over on Twitter, there is footage of a Destiny 2 avatar going around performing the crabcore stance (similar to what the members of Attack Attack! did in their “Stick Stickly” music video).

This emote has elicited a great deal of laughter from many metalheads who remember those early days of metalcore.

One user who shared this footage wrote: “Bro no shot we got a Crabcore emote in Destiny 2. I fucking love whoever made this.”

Below you will find the footage of this Destiny 2 crabcore emote.

Can you see yourself running around shooting aliens in Destiny 2 and then stopping to perform a crabcore stance? And speaking of Attack Attack!, below you will find their upcoming tour dates.
