Last week it was shared that actor Keanu Reeves’ grunge band, named Dogstar, would be releasing new music and performing live once again.
Dogstar formed in 1991, and before their breakup in 2002, they released one EP and two studio albums. Alongside Reeves, who plays bass in the band and provides backing vocals, Dogstar consists of drummer Robert Mailhouse, as well as guitarist and vocalist Bret Domrose.
Well, we don’t have to wait too long to see the band perform live, for Dogstar has recently announced its first live show in over two decades.
This upcoming May 27th, Dogstar will be performing as part of the BottleRock music festival, which is located in Napa Valley, California. Per a post on their Instagram account, Dogstar shares the following:
“@dogstarband featuring Bret Domrose, Rob Mailhouse, and Keanu Reeves will be performing brand new songs. Catch their first major performance in decades on Saturday, May 27th”
Not only will it be awesome to hear new tunes from Dogstar, but it is also going to be really cool to see Reeves rocking out on stage with his bass.
Per a past social media post of theirs, Dogstar shared with their fans: “We will be rolling out some new music this summer, followed by some gigs. As soon as it’s all figured out we will let everyone know immediately.”
Here is hoping news arrives of a new album and tour in the near future.
Speaking of actors in bands, not that long ago, we published a feature highlighting 10 Hollywood actors who have performed in bands. To find out which actors are featured on that list, follow the link below.
