It has been a while since we have heard some new tunes from Tenacious D, which is why it is wonderfully awesome to find out that the duo has released a new song today.
From Tenacious D comes “Video Games,” a beautiful tribute to some of Jack Black‘s favorite gaming titles.
The release of “Video Games” is also accompanied by a music video, which is *ahem*… fucking amazing.
Throughout the music video, Black and fellow Tenacious D member Kyle Gass pay tribute to a wide range of video game classics. The song is not only wonderfully hilarious, but it is also super awesome to see Tenacious D celebrate gaming in such a fun way.
The video games referenced in the music video are as follows:
God of War, Fallout, Red Dead Redemption, Mega Man, Minecraft, Street Fighter, Zelda, Super Mario, Sonic, Tomb Raider, and Team Fortress.
The music video is also presented in this incredible and adorable 3D animation. Below you will find the music video for Tenacious D’s brand new song “Video Games.” With the release of this new song, perhaps it is only a matter of time before the band announces a new record (perhaps even a tour). At the time of this writing, the most recent album that Tenacious D has released is 2018’s Post-Apocalypto.
Speaking of video games, some time ago, we published a feature named “The 10 Most Metal Video Games of All Time.” Our list highlights a variety of titles, from shooters to adventure games and more. If you are curious to check out that feature for yourself and see what games made the list, you can do so by following the link below. Also below, you will find a link to our “Top 10 Most Metal Video Games of 2022” list.
