As the Foo Fighters prepare to perform a multitude of upcoming live shows, the band was also set to make an appearance on Saturday Night Live; however, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, that performance is now canceled.

At the time of this writing, the WGA (Writers Guild of America) is currently on strike, fighting for fair pay and a contract that “includes protections to ensure that writing survives as a sustainable profession.”

Among the TV shows and projects impacted by this strike, Saturday Night Live is one of them. At the time of this writing, Saturday Night Live has gone dark.

On May 1st, the WGA posted a statement online regarding their decision to strike. Among the comments provided in the statement, the WGA shares, “Over the course of the negotiation, we explained how the companies’ business practices have slashed our compensation and residuals and undermined our working conditions.”

For this current season of Saturday Night Live, the finale was going to feature White Lotus actor Jennifer Coolidge as the host and Foo Fighters were going to be the musical guest.

Perhaps when SNL returns, we’ll see the Foo Fighters perform on the show once again.

In other Foo Fighters-related news, the band recently announced they have a new album coming out and shared a new song.

The new Foo Fighters album, But Here We Are, will be released on June 2nd.
