Although Dave Mustaine has thrown several verbal jabs toward Metallica over the years, he has also admitted to liking some of their music. For example, while he shared with Lars Ulrich that he isn’t super crazy about The Black Album, there’s a song on there he really likes.
The Megadeth frontman also happens to have a favorite Metallica album. Over on Twitter back in 2015, a user tagged Mustaine in a post and asked him if he has a favorite Metallica album; interestingly enough, Mustaine did reply and provided an answer.
It’s worth noting that, at the time that Mustaine provided this answer, Metallica only had nine of their current albums out; Death Magnetic, Hardwired… to Self-Destruct, and 72 Seasons would be released later down the road. So of all the other Metallica albums, which one did Mustaine name as his favorite? Well, in reply to the user who wrote to him, Mustaine said the following:
“’@Merterlicer24: @DaveMustaine I’m genuinely curious… Do you have a favorite Metallica album?’ @Metallica @Megadeth
“It’s Kill ‘Em All!”
Ironically, Kill ‘Em All is one of two Metallica albums that feature contributions from Mustaine (the other being Ride the Lightning). In all the time that has passed, we wonder if the album remains Mustaine’s favorite, or if he has a new favorite. What do you make of Mustaine picking this Metallica album as his favorite?
And speaking of Metallica, the thrash metal legends will be kicking off their epic North American tour in just a few months. Below you can find all the dates and locations associated with that tour.
