Back in 2021, Machine Gun Kelly and Slipknot singer Corey Taylor got into one hell of a beef with one another. After Machine Gun Kelly publicly dissed Slipknot during a live show, Taylor clapped back with some “receipts,” calling out MGK over allegations he made against the Slipknot member.

Roughly a year after this all went down, Machine Gun Kelly opened up about the beef in his documentary Life In Pink. Among the comments he expressed, MGK said: “It’s funny, the whole Slipknot issue (which really isn’t a Slipknot issue, it’s a Corey issue). That situation’s unfortunate because I think both of us let our egos get in the way.” MGK then went on to say that he should have reached out to Taylor and hashed things out with him directly.

So while MGK has voiced where he stands with things, how does Taylor feel? Well, during a recent conversation with Allison Hagendorf, the Slipknot vocalist opened up about this past beef, and said that believes he and MGK can “respect each other.” Per Taylor (as transcribed by Blabbermouth):

“Sometimes people are just gonna butt heads. He and I are very similar in certain ways, which — shock and awe — big-mouth singers; we are big-mouth singers. I appreciate that. And I guess sometimes… I know from my past mistakes that sometimes the words get out and I wish I could grab ’em.”

Taylor goes on to add:

“It is what it is. It’s one of those things where he and I will probably never be friends, but I’m sure we can both respect each other for what we do and what we’ve done and just move on. It’s stuff like that that it never needs to keep going.

“Once you’ve said your piece, that’s it. And a lot of times it’s the fans that carry it on, especially in this day and age with social media and everything. It happened, it was a moment and I made my peace with it. I’m assuming he did as well. And there’s that.”

It’s very cool that both artists have vocalized a desire to move on, even acknowledging what they could have done differently.

While Corey Taylor may feel that he and Machine Gun Kelly will never be friends, who knows what could happen down the road.
