Amazing things happen to those who wait! On the night of May 12th, modern heavy metal legends Avenged Sevenfold played their first show in five years. The event took place as part of their immersive listening party for their new album, Life Is But A Dream… in the A-lot of the futuristic Las Vegas venue AREA15.

The band were initially scheduled to make their triumphant live return at Welcome to Rockville next weekend. However, fans traveled from far and wide as news spread of this last minute gig like a virus.

As captivating and emotionally charged as ever, the setlist ran the gamut of hits and deep cuts throughout Avenged Sevenfold’s storied career. As refreshing as the song selection was, unfortunately they had to cut “Unholy Confessions” short due to an injured fan in the crowd.

The highlights of the event were far and away the live debuts of new songs from Avenged Sevenfold’s upcoming album such as “Game Over” as well as the previously released Life Is But A Dream… singles “We Love You”and “Nobody.”
