The trailer for Disney+’s series The Muppets Mayhem is out and Tommy Lee isn’t the only star who makes an appearance.
Watch the star-studded trailer appearances from celebrities and musicians including Danny Trejo, Lil Nas X, Cheech & Chong, Steve Aoki, Kevin Smith and Weird Al just to name a few.
The upcoming series is all about Muppet rock band Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem according to Ultimate Classic Rock. The trailer shows how popular and influential the band has been for such a long time, but they never got to record an album. The new Disney+ series is about the band recording that album while navigating the modern day music industry. (TikToking included.)
Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem were so influential that Tommy Lee says “they taught Motley Crue how to shred and party!”. In the trailer the Motley Crue drummer shows off a huge Mayhem tattoo on his chest and explains/reveals and proclaims “they tattooed their name on me when I was passed out! What?”. There are so many celebrities in the trailer alone we wonder how many we’ll spot when the show starts streaming.
The band might be made up but all of the members of Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem are actually based on real rockstars:
- Lead Singer Dr. Teeth – Dr. John
- Bassist Floyd Pepper – Pink Floyd/The Beatles
- Guitarist/Singer Janice – Janis Joplin
- Saxophonist Zoot – Zoot Sims
- Drummer Animal – Keith Moon/John Bonham/Ginger Baker
We’re wondering if Tommy Lee was an inspiration for Animal since we’re seeing a lot of resemblances. Either way, we’re praying we see some kind of battle of the bands between Electric Mayhem and Sam the Eagle. One can dream.
