Kid Rock might not be straight outta Compton but he sure as fuck ain’t straight out of the trailer park, either.
The dopey rap-rocker, who senselessly hates transgender people enough to shoot cases of Bud Light with a goddamn machine gun in protest of the brand’s partnership with a trans TikTok influencer (and still missed two cases), might wear the visage of a hardcore hick, but one look at pictures of his boyhood home in Michigan shows him to be a pretender to the hillbilly crown.
As it turns out, Mr. Rock grew up 40 miles north of Detroit in Bruce Township, Michigan. The area itself is somewhat remote, yet firmly upper middle class. His childhood estate is a 5,660-square-foot exercise in opulence that has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and is situated on a 5.5-acre lot.
The house was built in 1972, a year after Kid Rock’s mother made the mistake of having him, and remained in his family until August of 2018 when it was listed for sale for $599,900.
The original description from Morgan & Mizlow reads:
“AMERICAN BADASS’ childhood home. Homestead on 5 panoramic acres with all that’s expected of a mini estate of 5,660+ square feet. Renovated to the T in 2004 and gently lived in are 5 bedrooms/4.3 bathrooms, 5 car garage plus partially finished walkout and guest house.
Classy chic, warm and inviting for the relaxed country gentleman or the entertaining driven profile. Grand spaces independent of cozy quarters adds to the charm as does the inviting guest house, 3 stall horse barn, regulation tennis court and inground pool. Quick commute takes you to Romeo, Rochester and M-23 and M-24. Paradise found.”
Although the description fails to mention the hot tub and a wet bar, it’s not worth getting bogged down in semantics. After all, with this many amenities, it’s easy to miss such minor details.
The property sold to someone in November of 2018 for $650,000. Check out the photos below (hat tip to Taste Of Country):
