It has roughly been 15 years since Mötley Crüe released a new album; the last record that the band put out was 2008’s Saints of Los Angeles.

However, it sounds like new music from the band may be in the works.

Over on Twitter, band bassist Nikki Sixx recently shared that he and new Mötley Crüe touring guitarist John 5 were recently in the studio together and playing around with some ideas.

Per the tweet that Sixx wrote, he shared:

“Great day in the studio writing random riffs with J5.”

While this is no explicit statement saying that the band is planning to release new material, it is really interesting to hear that Sixx and John 5 are playing around with new stuff.

Given how actively Mötley Crüe has been touring, and considering all the success they have been seeing because of that touring, could they be interested in releasing a new album? Hell, even just a new song?

This post from Sixx makes for one hell of an exciting tease; that said, only time will tell if any new music actually comes from the band. Would you be excited to hear new music from Mötley Crüe?
