Max And Iggor Cavalera Set to Re-Record Classic Sepultura Albums

Published on:

Max and Iggor Cavalera are the heavy metal royal family. The work of these two brothers has been integral stepping stones to thrash, groove metal, and beyond. The landscape of extreme music as a whole would not be the same without their contributions.

In amazing news, the Sepultura founders have re-recorded the band’s first two albums, Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions. The records will be available soon, complete with updated cover art, via Nuclear Blast.

Max Cavalera explained, “As we get harder year after year, sometimes you’ve got to go back to where it all started! We re-recorded Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions with the amazing sound of NOW, but with its raw and timeless spirit. The artwork reflects the times we’re living in right now…. Apocalyptic as hell! We also have two new tracks with riffs from those days, remembered by heart.”

“I always felt like the recordings of our earlier work didn’t do justice to the way we performed the songs,” added Iggor Cavalera. “So, this is a very special moment in our lives that we are very proud to show you real fans our true representation of the amazing records Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions with an insane visual identity…enjoy and see you all in the pit.”

These new recordings were produced by the Cavalera brothers, with collaborators John Aquilino and Arthur Rizk on engineering, mixing and mastering duties. The incredible new artwork was designed by Eliran Kantor.

Max and Iggor Cavalera will head out on the 40-date “Morbid Devastation Tour” with Exhumed and Incite, which will take the brothers through the U.S. from August 29th to October 18th. Tickets go on sale April 21st at 10 a.m.
