Sad news to report today as Steve Cain, singer of Ohio thrash band Critical Khaos, has passed away after a horrible incident that took the life of numerous members of his family.
Per recent news reports, Steve was the victim of a triple murder allegedly committed by his own wife, Theresa Cain. Theresa is also believed to have taken the lives of her son Ethan and her father, William, before taking her own life.
It’s unclear exactly what caused Theresa to commit this tragedy, but authorities report that this all took place as she and her family were in the process of being evicted from their home after a foreclosure notice and a long series of financial setbacks.
Theresa’s daughter was also shot in the attack and remains in critical condition. A GoFundMe has been established for her here. A GoFundMe to help with funeral arrangements for Steve and other members of his family is here, too.
Before Steve’s passing, he and his band Critical Khaos were looking forward to opening for Otep. In his honor, the band has found a way to still play the show. They explain below:
Hello Chaotic Family.. We hope everyone is doing the best they can today.. So here it is.. This is something that Steve wanted so bad before he was taken from us.. We talked about this show like it was the opportunity of a lifetime for him and a chance to stand on a stage that he had previously only been a fan and supporting many many bands here on this stage.. But now it was his turn.. he wanted this more than you’ll ever know.. We are so happy to be able to make this show happen..
We couldn’t have made this happen without our brother Robert Smith .. We love you and we know Steve wouldn’t want anyone else to take his place for this show.. we appreciate DARK SOUL for allowing their front man to “cheat” on them for an evening
