Over the course of his career, Hideo Kojima has become a massive icon in the world of video games. He is most famously known for creating the Metal Gear franchise, which is one of the most beloved gaming properties in pop culture. Besides Metal Gear – and though he has created other incredible games – Kojima is also famously known for creating Death Stranding; this is an adventure game that features a plethora of iconic movie actors (like Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, and more).
Though it’s common for celebrities to have devoted followers, fans of Hideo Kojima are HARDCORE. As someone who devours media, anything he shares with folks in terms of music, movies, and games inspires interest among his followers – which is why it’s a big deal that he recently gave a shout-out to Lorna Shore.
The deathcore darlings have been making some big waves lately, especially given that their latest album, Pain Remains, is an amazing record. Well, Kojima also got a hold of Pain Remains recently. Taking to his Twitter, the video game director shared a photo of the band and the cover of their album. Per his English account, he shares the following:
“Thanks to Sony Music for sending me LORNA SHORE’s latest album ‘PAIN REMAINS’. It seems that this is the landing album and debut album in Japan. It is a stiff deathcore, isn’t it?”
Not sure what he could mean by “stiff” – that is very likely a translation matter. But this is incredible that Kojima has given a shoutout to Lorna Shore; it wouldn’t be surprising if the band received an influx of new listeners thanks to the Metal Gear and Death Stranding creator.
Also, given that Kojima is so fond of working with musicians in his games… who knows if Lorna Shore singer Will Ramos could appear in Death Stranding 2? Kojima recently announced that Death Stranding 2 is in the works; along with familiar faces from the first game, DS2 will also feature actor Elle Fanning.
Thanks to Sony Music for sending me LORNA SHORE’s latest album “PAIN REMAINS”.
