While it is uncertain whether or not we will ever get new music from System of a Down, some members of the band are at least staying active via their respective solo projects.
Band frontman Serj Tankian released some new music last year, and more recently, band bassist Shavo Odadjian has provided an update on his solo work.
Over on his Instagram account, Odadjian uploaded a clip that features some music from his upcoming album; per this clip, you get a taste of what this record will sound like (and the tease alone sounds super heavy).
Per the caption associated with this clip, Odadjian shares the following:
“After years of experimenting with different styles and genres for my side projects, I decided to go back to my roots and make a heavy solo record.
“Been working hard writing and recording with my bro @morgothbeatz for a few months now.
“Here’s a lil snippet of what’s to come. Who wants to hear more of this?”
This teaser is a solid indicator of just how sonically crushing Odadjian’s new record is going to be. If you are interested in checking out this clip, you can do so via the Instagram post provided below.

Speaking of Odadjian, have you seen the footage involving System of a Down drummer John Dolmayan tackling the bassist while the latter was in the midst of performing live? Dolmayan grabbed Odadjian and eventually brought him down to the ground. If you have yet to check out that footage and want to see it for yourself, you can do so by following this link here.
