Along with being one of the greatest action stars in Hollywood, Keanu Reeves also has awesome taste in music.
During a recent interview with NME, the John Wick star was asked to talk about music; specifically, he was asked to name his current favorite album.
Reeves sits on the question for a beat until the interviewer mentions a band that Reeves talked about during a recent Reddit “Ask Me Anything.”
Per that past AMA, Reeves mentioned that he was currently listening to Alvvays, Daughter, and Bill Evans trio.
When the NME interviewer brings up Alvvays’ new album, Blue Rev, Reeves talks about how he owns the record digitally, but he has yet to pick it up on vinyl.
The interviewer then asks if it is fair to say that Blue Rev is Reeves’ favorite album to be, to which the John Wick star agrees.
When asked what he likes about Alvvays, Reeves says (as transcribed by Ultimate Guitar):
“I like me a good pop song and I like me a kind of inventiveness in it. And I think the lead singer [Molly Rankin], she’s great…And I love the textures in it. I mean, I love bass guitar and drums and I like their energy.”
Alvvays is a fantastic band – excellent choice Keanu. For those not familiar with Alvvays, they are a Canadian indie pop-rock band that formed in 2011. They blend elements of shoegaze, dream pop, and jangle pop into their music. If you are interested to hear what they sound like, you can find the music video for their song “Many Mirrors” below.
Keanu Reeves’s new movie, John Wick: Chapter 4, is now in theaters. If you are interested in checking out the trailer for Chapter 4, you can do so by following this link here.
