Nothing is more important than family. Nothing.
Life is a series of constant peaks and valleys. Sometimes you are up, others you are down. If you are lucky you will still experience the hard times, but you will have family and loved ones around you to lift you up and help you carry on.
If anyone understands just what a rollercoaster life can be, it’s Brendan Fraser. The breakout star of early nineties comedies such as Encino Man, George Of The Jungle, and our beloved Airheads, it was his performance in The Mummy franchise later in the decade that made him a full fledged leading man and a household name.
Success was followed by some tough years. Frasier accused the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association of sexual assault, which he believes lead to a blacklisting. This event, coupled with his divorce and the death of his mother, lead to a pause in his career.
Fraser is back in a big way. In the past couple of years he’s appeared in several higher profile action, dramatic, and comedy roles, culminating this year in an Academy Award performance in Darren Aronofsy’s The Whale. The Brenaissance is indeed in full swing.
Frasier’s family has been with him through it all, and it doesn’t appear that he’ll be losing sight of that anytime soon. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that less than a day after receiving his Oscar, Brendan Fraser was spotted at the legendary Sunset Strip venue The Whisky A Go-Go, supporting his son Leiland as he played guitar with a local cover band called Fast Times.
Fast Times wrote:
“What do you do the night after you win an Oscar for lead actor? You come to the whisky and party with Fast Times of course. His son Leland is a guitar player so we had him come up and jam with us along with DJ Ashba and they totally rocked it.”
Never forget that if you have family you already have something far more important than an Oscar or a Grammy or a Nobel Prize.
