One week from today BABYMETAL will be releasing their fourth studio album, titled The Other One. Throughout their career, the band has worked with an awesome array of metal musicians; but per BABYMETAL member Su-metal, the band is also interested in working with artists outside of the genre.
As part of a feature with Metal Hammer, Su-metal opened up about several acts she would like to collaborate with.
One of those acts happens to be the legendary boy band Backstreet Boys, and apparently, Su-metal has already been in talks with the boy band. Per Su-metal:
“Recently, I had the opportunity to speak to the Backstreet Boys and we spoke about how we would love to perform together. I think it would be so fun and interesting to go beyond genres and collaborate with them.”
To hear BABYMETAL collaborate with the Backstreet Boys would be incredible. Along with the boy band, Su-metal mentioned another non-metal act she would like to collab with:
“Also, I would love to collaborate with Måneskin. I was surprised to hear that they were actually younger than us, because
I totally thought they were older than me. But us both being in the same generation, I feel so inspired and also motivated.”
Elsewhere in the conversation, Su-metal brought up a metal band she would love to collaborate with: German industrial metal titans Rammstein. Per the BABYMETAL member, she says “It would be so cool to blow fire!”
What do you think of these potential collaborations? Are you into the idea of BABYMETAL working with Backstreet Boys, Måneskin, and Rammstein?
Speaking of Backstreet Boys… did you know that Korn once covered the group’s iconic song “I Want It That Way”? Also, have you heard Lizzo cover Rammstein’s song “Du Hast”? If you are interested in hearing both of these covers (which are fantastic), you can do so by following the respective links to each cover below.
