News has recently come out that members of Type O Negative, specifically band guitarist Kenny Hickey and drummer Johnny Kelly, have started a new band.

This band is called EYE AM, and also features Crowbar member Kirk Windstein, as well as Crowbar’s Todd Strange.

Over on the Type O Negative Twitter account, several photos were uploaded featuring the guys working together.

Per the caption associated with those photos, the Type O Negative Twitter account shares the following:

“Kenny & Johnny sent me a cool update. They are jamming in a new project called EYE AM. This includes Kenny & Johnny & Kirk Windstein (Crowbar, Down, Kingdom of Sorrow) & Todd Strange (Crowbar, Down).

“The debut single will be recorded by Roger Lima at his studio The Moathouse”

Hickey joined Type O Negative in 1989, and Kelly joined in 1993; both artists remained in the band until 2010.

Outside of their work in Type O Negative, both members have played in Danzig‘s band, and have taken part in several other acts.

It will be interesting to hear what the music of EYE AM will sound like – could it be some unique blend of goth meets sludge metal? Who knows?

When it comes to other stories related to Type O Negative, did you know that the late Peter Steele once started a fight with Deftones singer Chino Moreno? Steele was super pissed with Moreno, and when the former saw the latter at a bar, he decided to throw a punch at him. To learn more about how this fight came to be, follow the link below.
