Rob Halford Votes Every Day to Induct Iron Maiden in Rock Hall

Published on:

Recently, it was announced that Iron Maiden was nominated as a potential inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

For a lot of folks, this is some awesome news; Iron Maiden is one of the greatest bands to exist in all of heavy metal history, and they should have been in the Rock Hall much sooner.

As it stands right now, the band appears to be in good shape to potentially enter the Rock Hall. Among the votes cast for the fan ballot, Iron Maiden currently sits in fifth place (with a total of 154,584 votes).

One individual who has been intensely voting for Iron Maiden is Judas Priest singer Rob Halford.

During a recent conversation with Metal Hammer, Halford said that Maiden’s nomination is “overdue,” and when it comes to voting for the band, he is voting for them every day.

Per the Judas Priest frontman:

“Iron Maiden’s nomination is absolutely overdue. I vote for them every day; you can do it by phone and it’s dead easy. It takes you to the list of nominees, then you pick the bands you are voting for – and I pick Maiden every single day.”

So if you are hoping to see Iron Maiden officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, you can go about voting every day like Halford is. At the time of this writing, Rage Against the Machine (who is also a nominee), is in 10th place (with 111,852 votes).

Speaking of the Rock Hall, we recently wrote up a feature covering 10 acts that have been wrongly snubbed by the institution (and who should already be inducted by now). And speaking of Iron Maiden, we also wrote up a feature speaking to who is heavy metal’s “old guard.” If you are interested in reading each of these features, you can find links to them below.
