If there is one late-night talk show that tends to draw in metal drummers, it is that of Late Night With Seth Meyers.
Among the metal drummers who have been brought on to drum for Meyers’ 8G Band is Lamb of God drummer Art Cruz, Stray From The Path drummer Craig Reynolds, and Tool drummer Danny Carey.
It seems that Carey must have enjoyed his past experience drumming for the 8G Band, for he has been invited to play with them once again.
Announced over on the band’s social media, Carey will be starting his new residency on Meyer’s show starting January 23rd.
Per a tweet posted by the Tool account, they write:
“Danny returns to @latenightseth on Jan. 23, catch him all week as he sits in with the 8G Band! #dannycarey #toolband”
Carey will be playing in Seth Meyer’s 8G Band up until January 26th.
This is an awesome win for folks who are fans of both Carey’s drumming and Late Night With Seth Meyers.
Who is another drummer you would like to see featured on a late-night talk show?
When it comes to other Tool-related stories, are you familiar with the song the band will never play live again? To find out what that song happens to be, follow the link below.
Last year, band frontman Maynard James Keenan talked about the band’s creative process (and had a lot of interesting insights to share). Among the comments he expressed, he shared:
“Generally speaking, because I accidentally only work with very strong personalities, stubborn people- I almost have to let them take the first step first and then react. And then allow them to see the reaction so they can build on the reaction. And that’s the same across all those projects.”
