Over on Spotify, thrash legends Metallica have become the first metal band to have a song hit one billion streams!

In fact, this Metallica song has over one billion streams! That song is none other than “Enter Sandman,” a track off of the band’s Black Album.

At the time of this writing, “Enter Sandman” has been streamed 1,001,245,158 times!

Congratulations to you all on this awesome success!

“Enter Sandman” is easily one of the band’s biggest songs, and given that the guys gained a lot of new fans this year thanks to the likes of Stranger Things, it is awesome to see the beloved track get so much attention.

Another metal song that is making its way to the one billion stream mark on Spotify is System of a Down‘s “Chop Suey!”, which is currently sitting at 931,773,552 streams.

In other Metallica-related news, later this year, the band will be taking off for a North American headlining tour!

This epic tour also features TWO NIGHTS of Metallica (so when the band come through to your local town/city, they will be playing two nights there).
