When not rocking out on stage or trying to cover System of a Down, Colson Baker (aka, Machine Gun Kelly) is acting. In fact, MGK has starred in several films.
One of those movies happens to be the 2022 stoner comedy Good Mourning – a film that Baker also wrote and directed.
Per IMDb, the film “Follows London Clash, a movie star whose world is turned upside down when he must choose between pursuing his one true love and landing a life-changing, starring role in a major motion picture.”
The critical reception pertaining to the film has not been positive. Over on Rotten Tomatoes, with 100+ ratings, Good Mourning has a 60% audience score.
When it comes to critics, the film stands at 0% (based on seven reviews).
It does not seem that Baker’s film has landed well with others… although, one group of folks seems to have quite an interest in it. Those folks are The Razzies.
If you are unfamiliar with The Razzies (or The Golden Raspberry Awards), they are a parody award organization that votes on the “worst” films of the year. Similar to The Oscars, The Razzies involves multiple categories (e.g. Worst Screenplay, Worst Actor, etc.).
This year’s event will be taking place on March 12th, and among the films nominated, Baker’s Good Mourning has been nominated for seven different categories.
Those categories are as follows:
- Worst Picture
Worst Actor – referring to Baker
Worst Supporting Actor – nominated twice, referring to Pete Davidson and Mod Sun
Worst Screen Couple – referring to Baker and Mod Sun
Worst Director
Worst Screenplay
When it comes to Worst Picture, Good Mourning is nominated alongside Blonde, Disney’s Pinocchio, The King’s Daughter, and Morbius.
Have you checked out Baker’s movie? Do you have any interest in seeing it? And among the films nominated for Worst Picture, do you think the Machine Gun Kelly movie deserves to win?
