As reported by the Daily Mail, Alien Ant Farm singer Dryden Mitchell has been charged with battery after taking a fan’s hand and forcing it to touch his genitalia.
It has probably been a long time since many folks have heard from Alien Ant Farm; among the band’s work, they are most famously known for their heavy cover of the Michael Jackson song “Smooth Criminal.”
This incident took place last October on the 29th; per video footage (which you can find below), as the band was performing, a fan reached out with their hand towards Mitchell. The singer then took the fan’s hand and pulled it toward his crotch.
After this incident, the fan who was forced into touching Mitchell’s crotch went to the police and voiced how upset he was.
Daily Mail ended up reaching out to this fan, and upon asking him about this incident, the fan shared that he has no idea what drew the Alien Ant Farm singer to do what he did.
Per the fan:
“I do want to tell my story but I do have to listen to my civil lawyers.”
The fan goes on to add:
“I’ll be more than happy to speak later. I do want the story out there because what happened was not right.”
A first-degree misdemeanor charge has been filed against the Alien Ant Farm singer – a ruling involving this charge could result in up to a year in jail.
Per a police report obtained by Daily Mail:
“[The fan] said he had his fist in the air and was trying to get a picture with Mitchell.”
Also per the report:
“[He] advised that Mitchell grabbed his fist while it was in the air and pulled the fist into his private area (genital area) against his pants. [He] stated he immediately pulled his hand away at that point.”
Dryden has yet to be booked for this charge. We will keep you updated on details regarding this story as they arrive.
