Per a post that has gone up on the band’s social media, Pantera bassist Rex Brown has tested positive for COVID and will be sitting out the rest of the 2022 Pantera tour dates.

Just the other day it was reported that Rex was not able to perform live with the band due to being ill. Well, now it has been confirmed that Brown has caught COVID. On Instagram, the band’s account posted several photos, along with the following caption and note from Rex:

“Thanks to all of our fans & everyone at Knotfest Chile for an amazing show. Thanks to Derek Engenmann & Bobby Landgraf for handling bass duties last night.

A note from Rex: ‘I caught a very mild strain of Covid, but because of our own protocols, I simply do not wanna risk getting my brothers or the crew sick!! I’m feeling better & am on my way to a speedy recovery. Merry Fckn Christmas & see you all next Year!'”

At the time of this writing, we are not sure who will be filling in for Pantera’s bass while Rex is out. We will keep you posted as details arrive. We wish Rex a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him perform with the band next year.

Below, at the time of this writing, we have included all the currently confirmed dates and locations where Pantera will be playing.
