Released in 1974 and created by country legend Dolly Parton, “Jolene” is one of the most iconic songs in all of music history. Given our fandom of Dolly Parton, not only were we excited to see her perform the song at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony, but we were also excited to see a particular metal legend join her in singing the song.

At this year’s Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony, Parton not only performed the song live for the ceremony’s attendees, she was also joined on stage by none other than Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford. Halford and Judas Priest were at the awards, given that they had won the “Musical Excellence Award”; they also performed at the ceremony.

At some point in the evening, Parton and several other artists took to the stage to perform her hit song “Jolene.” Along with Dolly and Rob, there was Pat Benatar, Annie Lennox, and Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran. It is wild to see Halford and Parton collab like this, given that months ago, the Judas Priest frontman spoke to wanting to photobomb Dolly.

It is awesome that these two brilliant and legendary artists got to share this amazing moment together. You can check out footage of Dolly Parton performing her song “Jolene” alongside Judas Priest’s Rob Halford below.

In other Rob Halford related news, the frontman recently talked about watching glam metal bands perform back in the day and the impact that the genre had on him as a closest gay man.

We interviewed Halford some months ago and had an epic conversation with him! We talked about the 40th anniversary of Screaming for Vengeance and the two-non metal acts he would love to collaborate with. Oh, and of course we talked about Stranger Things (and he told us what Judas Priest songs he would love to hear within the show).
