In the year 2003 the first ever Download metal festival took place. As one of the biggest metal festivals in the world, people flock in the thousands to attend Download. The festival will be taking place next year, and for their 20th anniversary, they have one hell of an amazing lineup.
The first thing we really want to shout out regarding Download 2023 is that Metallica is one of the headliners and they will be performing two sets! Per a post of theirs over on social media, the band wrote the following:
“We’re psyched to celebrate Download Festival’s 20th Anniversary with not one… but two nights on June 8 & 10, 2023! It’s been over a decade since we last visited Castle Donington so we’ll make up for lost time with 2 unique sets with no repeat songs whatsoever that weekend. Fifth Members can get their tickets now. More info at Metallica.com.”
That is incredibly epic! Those who attend will get two Metallica concerts?! Holy shit! But that is not all, for the rest of the Download 2023 lineup (announced at this time) is also fucking incredible. A tremendous amount of amazing acts have been announced – here is but a small taste of who will be performing: Slipknot (a headliner), Bring Me the Horizon (a headliner), Ghost, Brutus, Bloodywood, Lorna Shore, Pupil Slicer, and Stray From The Path. And guess what… even more bands will be announced!
This metal festival will be taking place from June 8-11th in Donington Park. Tickets go on sale to the public Thursday November 10th at 10am. Visit www.downloadfestival.co.uk to learn more details.
