Would you be excited to hear a Chino Moreno solo album? The likes of System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, and even Cannibal Corpse vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher all have solo records, but for some reason, the Deftones frontman has yet to create one. And per Moreno, we may not be getting one ever.

Per a new feature with Kerrang!, where Moreno mostly speaks to the upcoming Crosses album, the Deftones frontman is also asked about him potentially creating a solo record. Speaking about the idea of creating a solo record, Chino says “I have no interest in that. I don’t.”

He then goes on to elaborate as to why he is not into the idea of creating a solo album. Per Moreno: “It’s not that fun to make music for myself,” he continues. “I hate to say it, but I don’t think I’m that interesting as to where I have a million things I need to share with the world. I don’t. The best way to make music is to push ideas across the table and, next thing you know, you’re staring at a song.”

As much as we would love to hear a Chino Moreno solo release, we get where he is coming from and respect that. Perhaps he could change his mind in the future, but who knows? Would you be happy to hear that the Deftones signer was releasing his very own solo work?

What do you think of his side project Crosses? The band has a new record coming out real soon, and as of recently, they put out a new single.
