Whereas some like Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson may take issue with folks smoking weed at concerts, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger is more than fine with people smoking it up at their shows!

Some time back, Dickinson spoke to a live audience about his issues with weed (and mentioned that band bassist Steve Harris is not a fan either). Several fans took issue with this stance, with even Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta throwing out a playful jab toward Dickinson.

At one point during a recent interview with Loudwire Nights‘ Toni Gonzalez, the topic of smoking weed at concerts is brought up to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. Chad shares that he is totally cool with fans smoking weed at their shows and says that artists should not be mad at their fans for doing so. Per the Nickelback singer:

“No, I usually say, ‘Blow it this way. You can see, if I’m walking across the stage and I’ve got the microphone, I turn around and go, ‘Whoa, something smells really good right around here!’ I mean yeah, that’s what rock concerts are supposed to be. You’re supposed to get a little bit of that.”

“Well not only that, we’ve shot off so much pyro, and the chemicals I’ve inhaled from that… Oof. That’s far worse than somebody exhaling a little bit of pot smoke toward me, that’s not a big deal,” he continued. “It’s only gonna make the show better!”

What do you make of Chad’s points? Do you agree with him? When it comes to other stories related to the Nickelback frontman,  Chad Kroeger recently talked about how they do not take themselves too seriously when it comes to creating music. Also, did you know that Chad and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor have had issues with one another in the past? Funny enough, Chad once threw out a dig saying that Stone Sour was trying to sound like Nickelback!
