Welcome back to The Pit’s Favorite Riffs, where we share five new killer metal songs that have recently come out and that we love! Here are the metal songs we highlighted from last week!
As always, our goal with this feature is to shine a light on more underground metal bands. This week, we are bringing you a nice variety of black metal, avant-garde metal, and more.
The Otolith – “Sing No Coda”
Featuring members of SubRosa, The Otolith is an astounding work of emotional doom. The band’s new record, Folium Limina, is a captivating work that takes listeners on a beautiful, crushing, and ethereal journey. This is doom metal to vibe out to.
Daemogog – “Effulgent Regirth”
On the complete opposite spectrum of chill you have Daemogog. Relentless death metal with lots of Lovecraftian flair, this band deliver compositions that will make you going mad (with delight).
Sumerlands – “Dreamkiller”
Alongside this weekend’s helping of doom and death metal, how about some heavy metal?! Sumerlands is a band that packs a whole lot of instrumental thrills, and their song “Dreamkiller” is a great place to start if you want to get an idea of what their power and heavy metal vibe is like.
Vacuous – “Devotion“
If you are in need of more death metal however, then check out Vacuous! The band just had a new album come out recently, and we love their brand of chilling, creepy metal. Their song “Devotion” is one of our favorites.
NEPTUNIAN MAXIMALISM – “ZÂR – Empowering The Phurba – Éon Phanérozoïque“
To describe NEPTUNIAN MAXIMALISM is one hell of a task – they are a metal act that blends an extraordinary array of musical styles. From black metal to jazz and so much more, the compositions of NEPTUNIAN MAXIMALISM are overwhelming with technical intrigue and will get one’s jaw drop.
Of course, this is but a small taste of the many awesome metal releases that are out today. What are some new metal songs/albums that you are listening to now or plan to check out over the course of this weekend?
