The Mayor of Albuquerque, Tim Keller, is one hell of a metalhead. Not only has he chilled with the likes of Testament, but he even came out for an Anthrax show one time and introduced the thrash metal legends.
Just recently, as he was out and about voting, Keller was seen wearing a Soulfly shirt. Over on the Soulfly Instagram account, a photo of Tim wearing the shirt was shared; as Tim stands at some desk taking care of voting matters, you can see the back of his Soulfly tee. In the caption associated with their Instagram post, Soulfly wrote the following: “Albuquerque’s Mayor Tim Keller sporting his Soulfly gear while voting yesterday! Rock the vote!”
In fact, Tim appears to be quite friendly with that of Max Cavalera. Just last year, he was chilling with the Soulfly frontman and that of Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares (you can find a photo of the guys together below).
When it comes to other politicians who are into metal, Beto O’Rourke (who is currently running for Texas Governor), was seen attending an Iron Maiden concert last month. He wrote about attending the concert over on his Twitter and wrote, “With Henry [his son] at one of the best concerts I’ve been to.”
Earlier this year, Leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party in Sweden, Magdalena Andersson, shared that she is a big fan of System of a Down. And along with the likes of Virginia State Delegate Danica Roem shouting out her love for Municipal Waste, Chile’s President loves Deftones, Korn, and Nine Inch Nails.
We wonder if our President has any interest in heavy music – imagine hearing one day Biden being like, “I’d really love to see a new record from Job For A Cowboy sometime soon.”
