During a recent conversation with Cutter’s RockCast, Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford spoke to how excited he is to see Pantera perform live again. Back in August, the first new Pantera shows were announced, with the band performing as part of Knotfest: South America!

Among the bands they will be playing alongside, one is Judas Priest. The two bands will also be performing together as part of Mexico’s Hell & Heaven Metal Fest. Speaking to his excitement to perform alongside and see Pantera play, Halford shared the following (as transcribed by Blabbermouth):

“Is this Pantera thing gonna be amazing or what? We’re gonna be doing the first show together [at this year’s edition of Mexico’s Hell & Heaven Metal Fest].”

The Judas Priest frontman then spoke to how he feels about Anthrax’s Charlie Benante and Black Label Society’s Zakk Wylde stepping in as band drummer and guitarist, respectively. Ultimately, Rob is very excited to see the two artists perform.

“If you know about the way Charlie feels about Pantera, you know the way Zakk feels, the skill that they both have to do the songs justice.

“Man, this is important — it’s important. And Phil‘s voice is the voice of Pantera. What Rex does is as important. So, what’s not to love about this really special moment that we’re all gonna go nuts? I can’t wait to hear Zakk start churning out [starts humming ‘Walk’ riff]. I’m gonna be on the side of the stage, ’cause we’re both on the same bill that night. I’m gonna be banging my head like a maniac. I’m so happy for them.”

How excited are you for upcoming Pantera shows? Given that the band recently announced another show, we will probably hear more about other concerts in the near future! You can check out the full interview featuring Rob Halford below.
