Back in September, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger shared that, when it comes to following up a band live, you do not want to follow-up that of Sevendust; Chad meant this in a positive way, sharing, […] you don’t ever, ever, ever want to go on after Sevendust, because they will kick your ass and wipe you all over that stage. They are a force to be reckoned with and it is goosebump-worthy.”
Recently, Loudwire had the chance to interview Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon and asked him his thoughts regarding what Chad said. Given that Lajon and Chad are friends, the Nickelback frontman’s words mean a great deal to that of Lajon. Regarding his feelings about what Chad said, here is what the Sevendust frontman had to say:
“I love it! Chad is a good friend of mine, I love him and what I would like to say, if he could see this or if you could make sure he sees this… Take us out on tour! I’ve been talking to you about this for the last 10 years! For him to put that out there was so cool. I love him for saying that and just being honest. They can go on after us, Nickelback is great, they hold their own, but it was so cool to see that.”
We would love to see both bands go out on tour together! Below you will find a video that features Lajon Witherspoon speaking to Chad Kroeger’s comments about Sevendust.
In other Nickelback related news, did you know that an unreleased Dimebag Darrell guitar solo made its way into one of the band’s songs? At one point, Nickelback were working on a song (this being their rendition of Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting”); apparently, Dime was such a fan of what Nickelback had done, he wanted to jump in and he tracked a solo for the song!
