During a recent interview with Variety, Johnny Knoxville was asked about his current relationship with Bam Margera, and if the latter will ever return to Jackass.
Bam has been dealing with a lot on his plate; between being in rehab, reportedly having “fled” rehab, his family asking for Bam’s fans to chill out regarding a particular online campaign, and more – it has been rough. Some months back, Bam was even on Steve-O’s podcast and expressed frustration regarding how he was treated by the Jackass team.
Now in this new interview, Jackass star Johnny Knoxville is asked if he has been in touch with Bam (after the two had a very intense falling out). This is what Johnny said to that:
“I haven’t spoken to Bam in about a year and a half, give or take six months. [‘Jackass’ director] Jeff Tremaine, Steve-O and I had a face-to-face meeting with Bam and his wife, trying to figure out how to get him help. Then we had a Zoom as a group not long after that, and that was the last time I talked to him. It boils down to: I love Bam. I know that a lot has happened. I just want him to get well for himself and his family. I love the guy, and I want him to get well and stay well.”
The interviewer then goes on to ask if there is any chance that Bam could appear in any future releases involving Jackass. Johnny said:
“I think that would be a discussion. I only want him to get better. That’s the first step. He has to take that step and maintain that step, because everything else is just gravy. ‘Jackass’ is not important when you’re talking about someone’s life.”
We continue to wish Bam all the best on his road to recovery and hope rehab is going smoothly for him.
