Back in 2015, rapper Kanye West made claims that he was the “greatest living rock star on the planet.” Of course this ruffled the feathers of several people, one being that of Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor.
After West had made his comment about being the greatest living rock star on the planet, Corey decided to take part in a video feature where he put out a response to Kanye’s claim; this video came from the folks at Music Choice.
Per that video, the Slipknot frontman called Kanye out for his bullshit claim; he bluntly expresses that Kanye is not the greatest living rock star of all time and making a point to express such a claim speaks volumes. Below is everything Corey Taylor had to say about Kanye’s claim (as transcribed by The Pit):
“Kanye… You are not [pauses for emphasis]… NOT the greatest living rock star of all time. The fact that you had to tell people that, kind of says it all. You remind me of the guy who brags about [pussy] – they never get as much as they brag about. Stop it. [Makes a gesture slapping his own hand, then points at camera]: Stop it!”
You can check out the full video statement from Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor below. What do you make of West’s claim from back in the day? Funny enough, some years later, Corey Taylor would have more blunt words to say about West. Earlier this year, there was news that Kanye was selling an album for $200, and this pissed off the Slipknot frontman big time.
Taylor ended up expressing multiple points regarding West’s decision, but among those points, Corey shared the following: “You’re assuming that the audience has the access and same technology that you have but you’re a f***ing moron for doing that.”
