That is right folks, the Grinch – the beloved Dr. Seuss character – is making his way into the world of horror. As reported by Bloody Disgusting, we are getting a Grinch horror movie (and you will not have to wait long to see it)!
This film, titled The Mean One, will be a slasher parody directed by Steven LaMorte. Per the film’s Wikipedia page, the The Mean One‘s premise is as follows:
“In the sleepy mountain town of Newville, Cindy You-Know-Who saw her parents murdered by the Mean One, a bloodthirsty green-skinned creature dressed in a red Santa suit. Twenty years later, as the ravenous monster begins to terrorize the town and threatens to ruin the holiday, she finds a new purpose in stopping the beast.”
The Mean One has been picked up by XYZ Films, and per Alex Williams (Manager of Acquisitions and Development at XYZ Films):
“As a passionate fan of seasonal horror (and the TERRIFIER franchise), The Mean One is exactly the kind of film that lands on my personal ‘nice list.’ This movie is a stunningly great time with a ferociously subversive turn from David Howard Thornton – and XYZ Films is so proud to be bringing this soon-to-be iconic Christmas slasher to audiences this holiday season.”
